new world transparent specimens - iori tomita

having started as a fisherman to preserve organisms he caught,
today japanese artist, iori tomita advances his technique making protein invisible
and creates an art out of nature and death itself.
his work, as he himself has noted,
can be seen from many different perspectives.
i give you mine:
through his art you can see the architecture of different animals
how their bodies are built, what can happen to them after death.
it rises questions like, can colors and light make the image of death tolerable
or even magnificent to look at?
a dead organism is still part of nature...by preserving it, there is created a whole new world
a whole new perspective of it. how can this perspective alter other things in our everyday life...?
like architecture, interiors,or posters, this offers new aesthetics, as
many other great artists have done before.
i find his work quite intuiguing in every way!

these amazing pictures were borrowed from designboom
which is also where you can find much more detailed information
as well as here
